365 Days of Glass - Day 107
During Maker Club, I introduced students to simple machines via a game created by the Chicago Museum of Science. As the students played each game and were introduced to inclined planes, pulleys, levers, and wheels and axles, I invited them to record their reflections and ideas.
Each pair had an iPad they could use to record videos explaining what they had learned or their feelings about the game (e.g., “it was really challenging”) and I also offered Glass to them to use to document their learning.
This video was taken by a first grade student who was learning about wheels and axles. It’s great to hear her thinking and be able to see her point out specific items (i.e., the cookie) from her perspective. I’m excited to review all of the videos they took while working and experience the games from their view so I can improve the next part of the simple machines project.
